Project Book Buddies Benches

As a recipient of the Medina City Schools Foundation grant I was able to fund the Project Book Buddies Benches.  This project allowed for two benches and character books to be bought and used in the classroom.  The benches allowed for a creation of a student centered learning environment where collaboration and cooperative learning are encouraged.  Students are encouraged throughout the day to sit and read character building books with a buddy.  This helps to promote positive peer relationships and allows for students to work together as they read and discuss the theme and/or moral of the book.  My students look forward to their book buddy time and working collaboratively with others.  This foundation grant has been a great addition to my class. Thank you!

World Music Drumming Program

Thank you to the Medina City Schools Foundation for their generous grant to purchase 3 Tubanos of various tonality to supplement  the World Music Drumming Program at Waite Elementary School.  Through drumming, students learn about culture, community and teamwork  while learning difficult rhythms and literature.
